KBC 2017 Rules Season 9 –

Kaun Banega Crorepati, being India’s top notch favourite game show, have certain rules and regulations which one has to abide by in order to enter the show and meet the host. KBC Season 9 also has certain rules which when followed will give you entry to the show. Following are some of the rules a contestant must abide by
KBC Game Rules:
- All contestants of this show must be above 18 years of age as this isn’t a kid’s show.
- All the contestants strictly needs to be a citizen of India.
- All the contestants must not be a participant of KBC former Seasons’.
- The contestants must fall under Income Tax Act, 1961.
- The contestants must not be employees of the broadcaster, production company or prize providers.
- Before the main game, all the contestants will have to participate in the Fastest Finger Contest, where you will be given a question and you have to select the right option in the shortest time. The one who will answer correctly in the shortest time of all will get the chance to sit in the Hot Seat opposite Big B and play for the episode.
- After the contestant is chosen, he/she need to select a ‘Padao’. Padao is a question number selection, where the contestant selects a definite question
- number which when crossed and answered correctly, will give him his least earning.
- Questions till the Padao level will have shot clock where the time limit to answer each level’s question will be 45 seconds. After the Padao level, there won’t be any time limitation.
- KBC until Season 7 has followed a set of 4 lifelines, viz., 50-50, phone-a-friend, audience poll and expert advice. In 50-50 lifeline, you can answer a question where only two options (one right and the other wrong) will be provided after you choose the lifeline. You can use a phone-a-friend lifeline to call any of your’s friend and know the answer in a shot clock time. The audience poll enables you to take audience advice where the audience would be provided by a poll machine where they can feed the answer and you can see the percentage of votes on each option. Expert Advice as the name states comes with a screen where the expert sits in a different room from where he would provide you the answer. In Season 8, KBC introduced a new lifeline named ‘Code Red’ which enables any of your relatives/family members sitting in the audience to advise you whether to quit the show at any point.
- The money allotted to each level gets doubled on the next. To make the contestant reach to the jackpot without much hurdles, KBC has reduced the number of questions/levels from 15 to 14 in the last season.
- Once the contestant reaches the jackpot level and answers it correctly, he/she will be awarded with the prize money cheque.
- The actual amount may reach to the winner after deducting the TDS and Cess after few months.
